This city charges congregation $50 to splash coffee with rats

Pizza rodent would adore this!

A San Francisco museum is hosting a “rat cafe” where thrillseekers can compensate $50 for a payoff of celebration coffee alongside live vermin.

“Guests can sip their coffee while seated during bistro-style tables, easily draped with red and white gingham tablecloths… all while being surrounded by rats,” reads a website from the San Francisco Dungeon.

Patrons during a two-day Black Rat Cafe pop-up will also get some nip on pastries, though all a food will be privileged before a guest of respect are authorised to run loose, a organizers say.

“We’re apparently following all food formula and hygiene requirements,” a Dungeon’s Matthew Clarkson tells Eater.

The rodents aren’t only being plucked off a street, possibly — they come from a internal “rat rescue and adoption agency,” he adds.

“If looked after, they’re as purify as a cat or a dog,” Clarkson tells a blog.
