Bluestockings, a collectively owned bookstore and cafeteria in a Lower East Side of Manhattan, has turn a core of LGBTQ enlightenment given opening in 1999. Bluestockings also hosts events and creates a space accessible to internal groups; though it is run by a pool of 50 or so volunteers, that significantly cuts down on handling costs, pronounced Hadar Kaly, one of a store’s owners.
