CHILLICOTHE – Trent Fannin loves coffee – now. “But as a kid,” he recalled, “I wanted zero to do with it.”
All that altered after college. As he remembers it, he went on a outing and “met a man who was a roaster. He blew my mind with his coffee knowledge. He prepared me a healthy processed Ethiopian coffee. we still remember it to this day. He proceeded to tell me to concede it to cold for a notation and speedy me to try it black. He pronounced I’d ambience healthy fruity-tasting notes. we suspicion he was crazy – until we was a few sips in. Wow! It was incredible.”
“I roughly felt betrayed,” he noted. “What have we been unprotected to my whole life? Where has this been? That knowledge truly started my tour into coffee. It was really, how can we get some-more of this? And we have to share this with my friends.”
It was a birth of Rōst Coffee, yet it would take some time for that thought to brew.
Fannin, now 36, was innate and lifted in Bucyrus, Ohio. “The good bratwurst capitol of America!” as he described it. He graduated from Bucyrus High School in 2003, afterwards went to Mount Vernon Nazarene University to investigate business on a basketball scholarship.
“I grew adult forgetful to play college basketball,” he said. “It was my initial love. we can remember as early as 7 years aged that’s all we wanted to do.”
Fannin did play during MVNU by his sophomore year. Then “things happened” and he gave it adult – usually to take adult football. “I actually,” he clarified, “started personification football again (I played in high school) and finished adult personification a few years of semi-pro football and a deteriorate of locus football.”
But as distant as coffee, that was still a work in progress. He did splash some in college, though usually since it was “a necessity, simply utilitarian.”
“I unequivocally wanted to go into sports marketing,” he continued. “I desired sports and we desired sales and marketing. It felt healthy for me. However, loyal out of college we indeed started experiencing some success in construction. And simultaneously, we was unequivocally removing deeper in a coffee world.”
His initial “real coffee venture” was in 2009. “After a few years,” he said, “I finished adult starting Rōst.”
He started in Columbus. But a revisit to Chillicothe with his mother assured them to move. “My mother and I,” he said, “really became lustful of Chillicothe. We saw a lot of intensity here.”
“Moving to Chillicothe has been a best preference we’ve done for the family,” announced his wife, Hillary. “Coffee was always a car for Trent to emanate opportunities for people to dream and make connections, and we adore examination the kids see their daddy’s dreams come true. He’s ardent about delivering glorious products, and bland he’s means to broach glorious coffee and support to those who have large visions too!”
“I adore community. we adore coffee,” responded her husband. “Today those dual things are so naturally intertwined in the enlightenment it creates what we do so easy. And people conclude authenticity. I’ve worked tough to offer my guest and lead my group with only that – being real.”
“If we would’ve pronounced to me 15 years ago I’d be here,” he added, “I would’ve laughed during you.”
“But now,” Fannin concluded, “I wouldn’t wish to be anywhere else!”
